Review by hotel critic
During my recent gourmet getaway at the Crystal Crown, I was pleasantly surprised by the culinary offerings that greeted us, particularly at Brass Cafe. With a diverse à la carte menu featuring intriguing local cuisine and Western dishes, the restaurant certainly provided a delightful start to our mornings. Despite the hotel’s aging decor, I found the ambiance at Brass Cafe to be both inviting and comfortable. The staff were notably attentive, graciously accommodating my request for a vegetable breakfast that surpassed my expectations. The kitchen team showcased skill and creativity, ensuring that each dish was not only delicious but also artfully presented. Dining here felt accessible, yet spirited, a blend that is often elusive in the hospitality industry. My family and I also indulged at the Prosperous House Chinese Restaurant situated on the mezzanine floor. The flavors were manageable, though I feel some dishes could benefit from a bolder touch. While the hotel would greatly benefit from renovations, the culinary experiences alone are worth considering for those with a passion for food.
